One time, at a Third Day concert Mac Powell said something that I imagine will be something like a tatoo on my heart. He said "Worship is about bringing God into the center of whatever you're doing." And the Bible tells us that EVERYTHING matters so we need to do whatever we're doing to the glory of God. So, that means everything we do is a chance to step into His presence in some way.
Worship in a practical sense is something that can be kind of hard to wrap your mind around because it can take on so many different ways. Yet at the same time, so often we can have such a narrow view of worship. (What do you first think of? Probably being in the middle of a congregation singing what kinds of songs...? That's right. Worship songs.) I know I'm about to probably get awkward and break all kinds of American social norms comfort zones and head into some taboo areas. But I believe that worship can be expressed and experienced though endless ways. I believe I can worship just as effectively through music as you could on a quiet walk, and other brothers or sisters could through an act of service or drawing a painting. I think rather than asking what the form of worship looks like, we need to be asking more questions about our heart in worship. Does that music, walk, service or painting draw you into Gods presence with a humble heart and take you to the Cross? If so, then I encourage you to engage fully! Here's what God is really challenging me with this truth and drawn to: worship is your LIFE. Just check out what Paul had to say about worship in the beginning of Romans 12. That means worship can happen any time, any place, and take on endless faces. And I can think of anything else that is more exciting, simple and yet daunting all at the same time!
the object of adoring reverence or regard.
And as far as synonyms, there were a whole lot of words that came up, but the ones like "adore" "love" "revere" "awe" "devotion" and "honor" that stuck out to me the most.

Worship is about the presence of God. And the key to being in Gods presence, is about a humble heart kneeling before The Throne to present an offering. I think some of the most powerful times of worship for me are when I am in Gods presence, and I am fully aware I don't deserve all He offers me, but I'm just glad He hears me. His presence is all around for us to taste and see. Unfortunately, I am entirely too easily distracted, so I am becoming aware of my need to make an effort, as with prayer, to purposely choose worship, and cut out time regularly for that. Because If I don't, it might not happen.
