Lindy Moves to Germany: DO YOU TRUST ME?

I don't really know what to call this. Except a total God thing. A thing I have total peace about, in spite of how completely crazy all of this is. I have been working full time as a CNA/Caregiver for the last 3 years. I have fallen in love with the nursing field, and over this last year have come to a place where I had every intention of going back to school to pursue my bachelors degree in nursing. At this point, I still believe nursing school will still be in my future at this point. But honestly, I have spent way too much time trying to figure out the future that I am done even trying. Especially when all your best laid plans vaporize in about 5 minutes flat. It started last fall. But first a little bit of background: my cousin Pat and his wife Kristy have both been serving in the army their whole careers so far and have been stationed in Germany for several years. Their family has 4 kids in it, and Patrick and Kristy are very involved parents, but both still work full time, so they have a nanny. I had actually asked Kristy last fall about their need for a nanny but they already had one lined up. It was one of those "Wouldn't if be cool if?!...What a dream!" type things. So we left it that I'd be at the top of the list of people to ask if anything didn't pan out with the nanny they had just hired. This is where best laid plans vaporize. :) Kristy contacted me about a week ago now when the farthest thing in my mind was a move to Germany. :) Well, that's just what she and Pat were asking if I'd still be willing to do! She let me know that their nanny couldn't stay the entire time they'd planned, and they now needed somebody to come when she left at the beginning of September. Well, my initial reaction was "WHERE DO I SIGN?!?!" :) So, I prayed about it through the rest of the day, by that evening I told them I was coming! :) I did not see how I had any choice! It was too perfect. When else would life be this fluid? When would I have such few attachments and ties? When else would it be easier to just drop everything and go? There are somethings you just don't think about and do. I think of the disciples when Christ called them. It always seemed nuts to me that they dropped everything that followed Christ. I've always admired that kind of dedication and steadfastness they showed. Now I think I get that. I don't want to downplay or shade the sacrifices they made. But I want to highlight the fact that perhaps they saw an opportunity that was too good to be true outside of Divine intervention. Maybe they knew it was a crazy, hair-brained idea, but went for it anyways. Maybe they saw a bunch of puzzle pieces in their life snap together at once. There was an opportunity they knew they only had a small window of time to climb through, so they went for it. Cause I think I get that. Not that I'm not scared. Not that my head isn't spinning. Not that I won't miss the people and things I'm leaving behind. I will miss the comforter on my bed. I will miss my dog. I will miss my nephews and nieces, and all the rest of my family. I will miss going to some of my favorite coffee places. I will miss The Valley. I will miss English. I'm thinking there will probably be some American food I will miss. I could probably add to this list. But I think you get it. Following God is a crazy ride. It is scary, fun, exciting, frustrating, unknown, confusing and a whole lotta other descriptors at times. But right now I probably feel like Princess Jasmine when she's standing on the balcony with her hand in Aladdin's, about to step on the magic carpet: Aladdin *extending hand, stooping from magic carpet*: Do you trust me? Jasmine: What? Aladdin: DO you trust me? Jasmine: Yes.... Aladdin: Then come! ----- Yes Jesus. I trust you. Let's go! :)
