God-talks on the Bus...

Well! I got to go to Brugge and Bern these last two Saturdays! I had great days in both cities and I honestly just fall in love with Europe more and more every new place I go! And I just realized I didn't get a report in on Brugge last week! Probably because neither of these two trips were very structured...mostly a lot of shopping and walking around, checking out the city and taking pictures. And really the pictures tell the story best. So far, I've enjoyed all the places I have gone and would go again to spend more time there, but I also want to keep going to new places! So I don't anticipate going to the same cities very much if at all.

So Brugge was a great day! When we first got there, we found a waffle place right off the bat (SO good!!) and we found some chocolate towards the very end of the day. Between the waffles and chocolate, we took a boat ride through the canal in Brugge, checked out a cathedral and a flea market (That was really cool! I hadn't been to a Flea Market before, but I am so glad I went!) then we got lunch and walked around the shops and outdoor markets till it was time to go. All in all a really good day, and I met and got to spend the day with two very nice ladies.

Yesterday I went to Bern. It was a little bit more structured than the Brugge trip. To start off with it was rainy and cold, so I felt pretty at home. :) The first couple of hours we spent on a walking tour through the city which was really cool, even if it was wet. :) Then we found a place to eat some lunch....and to warm up! (I think we were more excited about the warmth than the food.) We walked around for a little bit after lunch, then a group of us went to a tour through the clock tower which our tour guide told us about that morning, and that was pretty cool! After that, one of the girls who also went to Brugge and I walked around and did some shopping, then it was time to go. The ride to and from was a highlight though! The view is absolutely breath taking....even if it's wet and foggy. Still so beautiful! Seriously, God spoils me. It's embarrassing. :) And it was just nice to turn on your ipod, enjoy the view and relax. And when it was dark I was able to get some reading done. So that was great too...and convicting. I've been reading Fancis Chan "Forgotten God" and it's highly convicting, challenging, exciting and inspiring. More about that later though. I will need a whole other blog for that one! :)

I sat there on the bus looking out the window yesterday thinking and praying about what a gift it is to be allowed the blessing to explore, take my time to just be me, learn, grow, move and focus. I am able to meet new people, reach outside of my comfort zone and do some and reorganizing and reconfiguring in my life that needs to be done. It is a huge blessing that I can't even fully describe to be fully aware that beyond a shadow of any doubt that I am exactly right where God wants me. I have never been more certain that I am in the middle of His plan for me, that He has great things in store and I am so excited to see that plan be unveiled. Being in a place where things are so fluid, new, full of change and uncertain can bring a lot of mixed feelings. It can be frustrating, exhausting and scary because things are so out of your control and you're trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Or it can be exciting, adventurous, breathtaking and freeing because you know God is in control, you're just along for the ride, and you are confidently expectant of His plans in motion for you. I am choosing the later. :) And yes, it is a choice! :)
