That Sweet, Delightful Husband.

                 Isaiah 54:5 
For your Maker is your husband—   
    the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; 
    he is called the God of all the earth.

              Zephaniah 3:17
 The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Sometimes, I don't even know how to respond to verses like these. They're so humbling as the grace they convey deluges the core of who you are with His mercy and all that's good. I love how profound and tender they are. I know I'm simple, but just go here with me for a little while. These are some thoughts I have about these verses:

• Your husband is the prototype of faithful. Faithful with skin.
• You serve a God who is Almighty, Shape-er of the stars, capable of all that's good, whole and true. 
• He has power to redeem your past, and heal you. Let him. 
• He, the God of the Universe, is present with you, will never leave.
• You are safe in His Arms.
• You are delighted in. Not tolerated. Not put up with. You make him glad and smile. Anything less is a lie. Don't fall for the enemy's lies.
• You are desperately desired, not just the side show. You're His main event.
• You actually make Him -The God of the Universe - sing, rejoice and dance. 
• You are relentlessly pursued. Christ stopped at nothing. He never quit pouring out for us until there was nothing left to pour.  
• You are someone worth the life of Christ. 

You are loved. I am loved. Every single soul to experience life in this whole messy, beautiful world is loved. Quite literally to death, in fact. If you're looking for that love look no further than the cross. If you're feeling lonely, find companionship in the warmth of Christ's embrace. If you feel hopeless, take hold of the hope He's holding out to you, begging you to make your own. If you feel unwanted, know that's a lie from the deepest pit of hell itself. If you feel unworthy, understand we all are, but Christ is more than worthy. There is more worth in Christ than worthlessness in you. There is more courage in Christ than there are reasons be fearful in this world. There is more joy in Christ than there are sorrows to be felt in this world. There is more righteousness in Christ than there is sin in humanity. You are valued. You are deeply loved. You are pursued. You are fought for. You are enough. And it is your right as the Beloved of Christ to hold your head high, act like you're His Beloved and allow that to sink in.
