authentic Christianity

"a *TRUE* Christian cannot bare to have too much when others have too little."

this quote and isaiah 58 have been haunting me since last summer.

it's the whole idea of people out there needing and hurting. emotionally, physically, spiritually, and so many other ways. but the people who claim to be followers of God are either ill equipped or unwilling, or perhaps both to help those hurting, needy souls, bodies and hearts.

we as believers are called to be Christ to a world with ugly, broken and awkward issues. we are called to be pain relievers - in every way, in Jesus name. we are to be a safe place for those who have shame filled hearts share their lives and get help instead of hide for fear of condemnation and judgment. we are to step up and sacrificially give of our money and material resources to those who actually NEED them.

but the truth is, striving to be like Jesus *demands* our sacrifice. we may have to get involved in a ministry we are called to, but is uncomfortable. we may have to forget about getting that new gadget to give to somebody in need. we may have to give till the only benefits we will reap is a possible "thank you" and a reward someday in Heaven.

there are so many people in need in so many ways. and we are called to help them. i don't believe that quote was only talking about physical needs but emotional and spiritual needs too. cause if a true CHRISTian can't keep Jesus to themselves. a true CHRISTian can't have too much [love] while others have to little. because if you have too much love, than that means your not sharing it.
