So here I am. Doing this blogging thing………

Yeeeah I don’t really know what I’m doing. :)

But to start out with I thought it would be a good idea to sort of explain a few things.
First, the older blogs are pretty much actually Notes that I posted on Facebook. But I thought it was a good idea to have all my ramblings together in one place, so I started this blog. And now that housekeeping item of clarification is out of the way, on to bigger and better things. :)

Mostly I wanted to share my heart for the name of my blog. I guess it’s probably pretty obvious the heart and reason behind it, but so complicated to put into practice. And so I guess this blog will document those complications and successes really. You see, ever since I can remember it has always been my prayer that God would keep me soft in His hands. I want to conform to My Potter. It has been my goal to have life with open hands freely and unhindered inviting Christ to come have His way in my life. I desire to maintain a posture of faith and obedience to God. I want to be the person that does whatever God asks. But I want to take that a step further by having faith that ALL things are possible in Christ. I want anything that God could ask of me to be an option on the table. I want to have “Uh? Okay? Let’s talk about it, God….” reaction rather than “NOOOO WAY!!” This way to have life kind of scares me – I’ll be real. But I believe God, so I’m getting over it real fast. There is only one thing that scares me worse than absolutely submitting to God and telling Him He has all access to get up in my business: what my life would look like and the mess it would turn into if I didn’t make that choice. It’s not that I follow God out of fear. What I’m afraid of is hurting Him worse, and making choices that damage our relationship. I follow Him with a mix that is reverent intimacy, and I don’t want anything to mess that up because the place of reverent intimacy is where I grow the most. When I block corners of my life off and try to separate things from God, it doesn’t bode well for me. Like, at all. Because I have found the fastest way to have intimacy with God is when nothing is off limits. Things are raw, open and exposed. When nothing is off limits in my walk with God, there is growth. No assignment of His –regardless of how unlikely it may be – seems too crazy. There is no hurt unhealed. There is no chain unbroken. Challenges are less daunting. When I give my life with open hands to Christ he brings FREEDOM. And absolute, unadulterated freedom in every place in my life is something I am determined to wholeheartedly pursue and attain or die trying!

So that’s what this blog is so much about. It’s a journey of me and Jesus. What life looks like with Him. I want a place to reflect on who He is to me, what He’s teaching me, what He’s been doing in my life. I want a place to testify of His undeserved redemption in my life. It will cover what He is teaching me in many areas of life. Whatever I post on here, there will be a lesson God has taught me through it. Whether I post a poem, YouTube Video, or write my own post about clothes, a book review, running, or prayer. Whatever I talk about on here, God will be in the middle of it. I’m sure there will be some light posts that aren’t very deep or theological…and there will be some things that I write about that probably keep me up at night and maybe only God will even understand what I’m trying to say.  But all of it will tell a story of what God is up to in my life. Because I believe God when He tells me He cares about the details. He cares about what makes me laugh, cry, angry, relieved, feel alive or anything else for that matter. I matter. You matter. We are His children, and He wants to be involved in every aspect of our life. He wants an all access pass. And that brings me back to living life with open hands. :)
